Nodular iron or ductile cast iron is a distinctive type of iron. Before casting, it is subjected to a special treatment (grafting) with magnesium to give it an exceptionally strong structure against impact and to have a long life. Thanks to its high elongation, the use of nodular iron (GGG 40.3), which is nominated as a replacement for steel material, has increased over time. GGG 40.3, which provides the closest elongation to steel in KGD iron, has started to be more attractive in terms of production and cost.
